New Travel Website for Families | Wander Far Spend Less

November 20, 2025

Filed in: Families, Travel

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know two things about me: I love photographing families… and I love traveling with my own. My kids have grown up with a camera in their faces and backpacks on their shoulders. Some of our best memories as a family have been made while exploring new places together – big trips, weekend trips, and everything in between.

Over the years, I found myself having the same conversations with clients during sessions. We’d chat about travel plans, how to keep costs reasonable, which destinations work well for kids, and all the little details that make a trip smoother. I’d come home thinking, I wish there were a place I could share everything we’ve learned.

So this fall, I finally built it.

Meet my new travel website: Wander Far Spend Less

Wander Far Spend Less is a space just for family travel. Realistic, budget-minded, Canadian-friendly travel. It’s where I’m sharing all the tips, itineraries, mistakes, and money-saving strategies we’ve picked up after years of traveling with three kids.

If you’ve ever looked at Instagram and thought, “How on earth are families affording all these trips?”, this website is the opposite of that vibe. No luxury hotels you’ll never book. No $10,000 itineraries. Just practical, honest information for parents like us.

You can find it here: www.wanderfarspendless.com

What you’ll find on Wander Far Spend Less

The blog is brand new, but I’ve already added some of our favourite trip posts including all the details, costs, and tips we used along the way.

Here are a few you might like:

Everything is written with Canadian families in mind: the flights we actually take, the prices we actually pay, and the kinds of trips real people can do on school holidays.

Why I created it

Sweet Ginger Photography will always be my home base. I love what I do and I love the families I get to photograph, many of you have been with me for years. But as my kids have gotten older, travel has become a huge part of our family story, and I wanted a dedicated place to share that side of our life too.

This new website lets me do that. It’s a passion project, but it also feels like a natural extension of the conversations I have with so many of you.

I’d love for you to take a look

If you’re dreaming of taking more trips with your kids, whether it’s a big international adventure or a simple weekend away, I hope Wander Far Spend Less gives you ideas, encouragement, and a few money-saving tricks along the way.
