Come take a peek! |calgary family photographer|

I love seeing how other people display their photos, it’s so fun to peek into other people’s houses isn’t it? Well today I took some photos of my house so you can take a peek at how I display MY photos. I whole heartedly believe that you should either go BIG with a select one or two photos or pick several (and by several I mean at minimum 6, preferably 9-12) that you love and group them together. This will make a statement, an impact, a WOW when people come into your home. Don’t let your beautiful images get lost on the wall by printing two 8×10’s and placing them over your couch. Think about scale and colour. It truly will make such a difference.
The two canvases I have on either side of my fireplace are just a little over 4 feet by 2 feet. Sounds huge right? But they fit the space perfectly. Imagine if I had chosen two 11 x 14’s or even a 16 x 24 canvas. They would have looked small and the fireplace would have taken over the wall. Also, when I took the photos I did it with the purpose of hanging them in my living room. I wanted a white background to keep with the lighter, airy feeling I was going for. When you prepare for your session, think about what you will do with the photos. Do you want a large canvas? What colours will your clothes be? Make sure they will compliment your decor as they will look THAT much better hanging on your wall.
I also have a family photo album and image box on my coffee table. Keep these out, on display, that’s what they’re for. I pick a different photo from my image box when I want to switch it up and display it on the easel on my sofa table. I love that I can display many of my favourites this way and I’m not stuck with one.
Do you have a space in your home that is crying out for a photo? Let’s get some photos with that exact purpose in mind. Show me your space and we’ll come up with something beautiful together.
Thanks for stopping by and peeking into my life. Oh and by the way, if you’re wondering where all the toys and diapers are, they are crammed into the sofa table behind the couch 😉
