A Personal Touch |calgary|maternity|photographer

April 15, 2010

I was lucky enough to head out to Canmore again for a maternity session this past weekend. When I walked in the house my first thought was ‘wow, this place is gorgeous!’. It was the perfect Canmore home, with large windows so you feel like the outside is inside and decorated with a feeling of the outdoors (but not cabin!). What I loved the most though was some of the artwork they had in their home. The best part is that they had a little story to tell me about each piece. I love that. I think your home should be filled with things of meaning, whether it be a photograph, a painting or a sculpture it’s so nice to be able to tell your guests about your piece and what it reminds you of or the funny story of the place you got it. I love to use art in my client’s homes in their photos so I was happy when Casey allowed me to use their large painting from Hawaii in the photos. (This is where they were married, they love going there, see? great story!) These two were so fun to photograph. I absolutely love the last photos below of them on the couch. Her belly really does look that nice, can you believe it? Oh yes, the ‘comfiest looking chair ever’ is from a place called Arizona Leather in Scottsdale (thanks for the tip Sherri!).
