My Style

April 18, 2011

Photography is very personal. Personal to the photographer and personal to the subject. Just like a piece of art, one person may be moved by a particular painting while another may pass it by with barely a glance. What makes that one person pause? Something in the painting has connected with them. It has evoked a feeling. Whether it be joy or sadness, it has affected them. With my images I strive to connect with my subject and get that feeling. I love truth in a photo and embody that in my work. I love a true smile, a true giggle and even a true pout. If the expression is authentic, it will be all the more powerful.
What I ask of my client’s is to trust me and reveal the truest you. YOU will bring these images to life. Your imperfections MAKE the photo. Sometime’s seeing yourself through another’s eyes is all we need to appreciate what we have.

One can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.” – Thornton Wilder
