Experimenting with Light |Calgary|Photographer

January 18, 2010

If you’ve been following my recent posts you’ll know that I am in the midst of a photography workshop. My next lesson was to experiment with light indoors. Some of you may or may not know that I ONLY use natural light when shooting. Almost all photography that I love is done with natural light and on very rare occasions I will see a photo that used external light sources that I like. This is simply a personal preference. So for this lesson we were to find examples of light indoors that were all different and lit our subject in interesting ways. My planned model cancelled so I was left to find an inanimate object in my house. I used this teapot I brought home from Japan – it has a nice texture on it and a great shape. Photos were taken in front of my door, two different windows and in the garage. Marta calls this ‘The Story of the Teapot’!
