Happy Birthday to my sweet little boy Hugh. You have been the absolute light of our lives since you joined our family. This year seems to have passed so quickly yet it also seems like you’ve been with us forever. Your smiles, squeals and cuddles make every day a better day.
I photographed Hugh for a day from morning to night to show what a day in his life is like at this moment. I want to remember everything. His daredevil tendencies, his curiosity, his love of his brother, his messy eating, his funny hair, his barely-there two front teeth, his cuddliness, his little feet, his big smile, his cry, his crib, his room – it all matters. These photos are priceless to me. The slideshow below is just a sampling of the photos I took, there are close to 200 that I will make into an album.
I hope this inspires you to do a ‘Day in the Life’ series with your child. You don’t need to be a photographer to do this, your photos don’t have to be perfect, they just need to exist.
