Okay self portraits done…oh wait, not yet. Next assignment for Marta, do a self portrait in a reflection that is NOT a mirror. So I began to think, what reflects? My stainless steel bowls, the bathroom taps, my television, windows, water….yes, I want to use water. I thought about using the bathtub but I looked in it and all I could see was, the bottom of the bathtub! I even considered the toilet – yes, the toilet – so I looked in it and, you guessed it, I could only see the bottom of the toilet. I needed water on a dark surface with a lot of light hitting it. Grabbed my camera, remote shutter and tripod and drove to find a parking lot. Ideally it would be a vacant parking lot. Nope, I found a church parking lot with people coming in and out. I had no time for self consciousness, I had to pick up Oliver in an hour and had no time to rethink my idea. I set up my tripod and began looking for myself in the puddles in the parking lot. Again, quite sure I looked a little loopy to the passersby as I’m crouched down on the pavement looking for my reflection. I did find it though and here’s the result..
Love this. You are too cute. Your description makes me laugh.
LOVE it and nice boots : )
Your boots (and legs may I add) look fantastic!
wow, fantastic! I thought you lived in Calgary. We won’t have water until at least May.
PS: Your self portrait inspired me to try again. Took me an hour and a half to get one single image that was even remotely useable!
