SWEETGINGER.

Your perfectly imperfect family deserves beautiful portraits of this snapshot in time.

'You've got to be a beginner
before you can be anything else.'

Do you want to take beautiful photos of your own kids?
Sweet Shots is my photography workshop especially tailored for Moms. This workshop will teach you the ins and outs of your camera and how to use it to its fullest potential. I’ll show you the best places in your home to take photos and the composition techniques to take your images from snapshots to portraits.

Learn how to document your life and take photos you'll be proud of.
First steps, first bowl of spaghetti, first day of school and all the giggles and fun in between – these are the
moments that deserve to be captured.

With a hands-on, small class approach, Sweet Shots will give you the confidence to tell the story of your family.

What's Included

Topics covered include:
getting to know your camera, composition, light, exposure, equipment and finding inspiration.

The 3 hour workshop is
presented in six lessons tailored to beginners that will take you from shooting automatic to manual and from snapshots to portraits.

Taking place at the gorgeous Venue308 with complimentary coffee, tea and refreshments.

A beautiful take-home reference guide full of tips and tricks you can refer back to time and time again.

Hands on practice taking photos with me by your side helping you get the image you want.

A Facebook group exclusive to workshop attendees. Post photos you’ve taken with your new skills, receive feedback from me, and share resources.

Finally, a workshop
just for YOU

What past participants have said:

“I probably learned more taking your workshop than I learned taking a 6 week photography course at SAIT.”

“Thank you so much for the amazing workshop Virginia, it was well worth the trip down from Edmonton!”

“I can’t believe how easy it is on manual! And almost every shot I’m taking is a keeper so I’m taking WAY less of them. Sigh..Virginia? You freakin’ rock. I’m soooo happy I took this class before her birthday!”

A little about me...

My name is Virginia Holst and I've been photographing Calgary families for the last 14 years. I love teaching fellow Moms how to use their cameras to their full potential! Seeing the light bulbs go off during my workshop is so fulfilling and getting to see the images created afterwards brings me such joy! My intention with this workshop is to create an inviting, safe and inspiring space just for women where any and all questions can be asked. Leaving the workshop with your new skill set I want and encourage my participants to continue their learning and discover the same passion I have for photography!

Who is this workshop for?

Moms, Aunts, Grandmas, Sisters, Girlfriends. Do you see the theme here? Yes, all women. I want to have a fun girls class where you feel as comfortable as possible asking any questions you may have.

Anyone that would like to take better photos of their kids. You don’t have to be a Mom but please take note the workshop is tailored towards Moms taking photos of their children.

Who is this workshop
 NOT for?

If you already know all the bells & whistles of your camera and can consistently take properly exposed and creative photos you are probably too advanced for this class.

If you are thinking about starting your own photography business this class is not for you. I will not be discussing the business of photography.

Are you ready to take your photography
skills to the next level?
