Gift prints, what are they? I get asked this a lot. I think it’s the word ‘gift’ that throws people off. Well I’m here to tell you that really has no meaning to the product. You can gift it or keep it for yourself, doesn’t matter. What does separate these prints from my other prints is that number one, they are all priced the same. So whether you purchase a 5×5 or an 8×10, it is the same price. Also these prints are matted. What does this mean? As you’ll see below they’re not just a loose print, they have a white mat on the front and a solid white backing. Often times the mats you get with a store bought frame are very thin and look, frankly, cheap. These mats are nice and thick and are a good bright white rather than the cream colour you might get in a store bought frame.

The photos above are a 5×5 but with the mat are 8×8. As you can imagine, if you purchased 9 of these gift prints, even though they’re 5×5, once you add the mat and the frame and space them out 4 inches, that’s a beautiful 3.5′ x 3.5′ gallery for your wall. So even though we’re usually told going big is better – going small can totally work as long as you have several. Two of these would look insignificant on your wall. Nine makes a statement and allows you to showcase many of your favourites and helps tell the story of your session. Nine of your favourite photos from our newborn session hung over baby’s crib – so cute!

When you book a newborn session with me did you know you can add on an Image Box?
Untitled-1
An Image Box is a 5×7 Box that can be customized with a photo from your session and whatever text you’d like on the spine. Inside I’ll print a 5×7 of EVERY edited photo from your session! These boxes look amazing on a bookshelf, your bedside table or even the coffee table where friends and family can open and browse at all the photos from your session. Although it’s great to get the digital files (which are included with your session fee!), having something tangible makes all the difference.
This family was a blast to photograph. I have had the most fun two year old’s lately (*knock on wood). I photographed twin newborns last weekend which I’m excited to share and this weekend I’m photographing twin one year old’s! Happy Easter!

I knew this would happen. As soon as I got busy again my blogging would fall by the wayside. Sorry guys! I commit to getting back to it this week. I have a bunch of recent sessions to share and a really fun DIY project that I know you’ll love! Hockey is finally over and besides Beavers and Cubs my kids aren’t in any activities for the next few months – hallelujah! Spring is in the air and already the boys are making their way outside to play after school and staying out for hours, love this. One thing I don’t love is trying to call them back IN the house. I’ve seriously considered getting one of those triangle dinner bells to call the boys in. I found this one at SchoolHouse Electric which is pretty much exactly what I’m looking for. A bit worried it might backfire on me and all the kids in the neighbourhood will be ringing the bell constantly but it would save me from yelling for them.
This week I’m back in Edmonton to photograph this Mom’s new baby! Can’t wait to meet their new baby boy. Below are photos from a recent session with the most loving family. A newly adopted daughter and then a brand new baby. I love all the different ways a family can be made.
